Honey project in Dang
The Good Governance Protection Forum (GGPF) implemented a project aimed at promoting and managing Apis Cerena (Honey Bee) for sustainable income generation in Dang District. The project focused on the locations of Pawanwar, Shigha, and Hapur within Dang, with the goal of improving the livelihoods of local communities by harnessing the potential of beekeeping and honey production. Activities included forming and strengthening beekeeping cooperatives or groups, providing training and capacity building, establishing and managing honey bee colonies, developing honey extraction and processing facilities, implementing quality control measures, conducting market research, and enhancing market linkages. The project spanned two years, starting on April 8, 2016 and concluding on April 8, 2018. The project aimed to create sustainable income opportunities and promote entrepreneurship in the honey bee sector, while also disseminating knowledge and best practices to benefit the wider community.
